Via Wreaths Across America, our Veterans Coalition project places wreaths on veterans’ graves in Clear Creek County, Gilpin County, and Fort Logan cemeteries. A few years ago, Troy Erickson, our chairman, sought a way to repurpose the ‘retired’ wreaths after the Christmas Season. Currently he is working with Colorado Wildlife, Colorado Elks Association and volunteers to re-use the wreaths to serve as habitat structures for fish in Colorado waterways. The idea is spreading across Colorado.
July 12, 2024, Troy gave this interesting interview on Wreaths Across America Radio, explaining the process.
On the Wreaths Across America Radio Morning Show, Michael W. Hale chats with Troy Erickson, a native of Caribou, Maine and US Army Veteran who currently lives in Dumont, Colorado. Hear about how they support Wreaths Across America and make fish habitats while doing it.
